Always New Light.

Video: An exploration of the energy that continues after embodiment ends. Neuroscientific theory suggests an external component to consciousness. Which continues after embodiment ends. (a sold, for want of a less religious word). That everything, every rock, air, light, has varying levels of consciousness. In this image, nothing is alive, yet a huge change in energy is being documented

This will form part of a triptyque video piece, taking the landscape (shown), the still life and the figure - three classic art subjects, to redefine existence; suggesting the beginnings at the ends are softer than we think. The still life will be of a picked flower, filmed over days and sped up. The flower is dead from the start, but it blooms before it wilts. The figure will be a heart beating, at the end of surgery, once it has been restarted after cardioplegia has stopped. Filmed over seconds and slowed down.

Seconds, hours, days, the linear relationship of time to our current measurement of life is interesting.

Still: Taken on the shortest, darkest day of the year. In the morning twilight hour, when the light fills the sky and reflects on the water, but before the sun appears on the horizon. Exploring the continuity of light, energy, our life source, after embodiment ends.
